Glacier National Park, Kootenai Falls, MT and Coeur d'Alene, ID

On our way from Livingston, MT to Glacier National Park we stopped and spent the night in the Flathead Valley area.  We actually drove around the Flathead Lake purchasing some yummy Flathead sweet cherries from a local fruit stand.   We boondocked at the "Lakeside to Blacktail" trailhead.  The view of flathead lake was awesome.
The next morning we hiked on the Blacktail trail and foraging on Huckleberries.  (the locals call them "Hucks")
This is West Glacier National Park on Lake McDonald.  We parked in Apgar on Grist Rd and biked the area...beautiful area.   Within the WGNP we drove as far east as Avalanche Visitors center.  No vehicles greater than 21ft were allowed to go further.   There are busses that will take you to Logan Pass or as far as East Glacier National Park.  If we have time on this trip, we might go back and schedule a bus trip.

The entire shore is nothing but these very colorful pebbles.  Interesting assortment of colors.

Suspension bridge at Kootenai Falls near Libby, MT.    This particular stretch of the Kootenai river is especially scenic.   The roar of the river was deafening.

Judy was brave enough to walk across. (Mark  was happy just being the photographer with Nika)

Coeur d'Alene, ID was a nice stop for us.  We parked near downtown and biked around the city park and beach area including the North Idaho College campus area.  This is definitely more of a resort type area but was fun touring on bikes.
