A Moose ... for real, a moose!

July 31, 2019 -  We are still in Pinedale Wyoming, and during our afternoon hike at the “CCC Ponds”, we came upon a bull moose in velvet. The CCC Ponds was one of the original camps for the Civilian Conservation Corps back in the 1930’s.

From now on Mark will be on Moose watch duty!

We also visited the Museum of the Mountain Man, which is also located in Pinedale, WY.  We both found it very interesting as it explained the fur trade era in the Green River Valley between 1825-1840.  These mountain men trapped beavers to sell the furs to be used for men's top-hats, (which was the fashion trend for all affluent gentleman back then).  The demand for the beaver hats was replaced by silk top-hats that came from China.

This pine tree outside of the Museum of the Mountain Man was actually a cell phone tower cleverly disguised as a tree.

We're not the only ones enjoying this area...Nika thinks this is way more fun then swimming in the pool at home!

This is a drone shot of our home away from home! (Freemont Lake Campground)   By the way, this is day 9 without any RV hook-ups...we are off the grid!
