The Grand Tetons

August 5, 2019 -  We arrived in the Grand Tetons after passing thru Jackson Hole.  We found a great campsite at the  Gros Ventre Campground inside the park next to the Gros Ventre River.  We had a view of the Teton range from our dining room window!

Nice hike up to Taggart Lake.
Jackson Town Square.  A busy place and a bit touristy but kinda interesting.
Yah... a little excited..

First public street performance.... in Jackson Hole no less... "Nuts and Twigs" tour dates coming soon.
This is one of my fav's  (the flowers are nice too)  -  Mark
4 wheel drive, high clearance - no problem.   Biking the back road to Mormon row.
Hanging out on a random front porch.
Mormon row - its a thing,  google it.  What a fun biking day.
More of the old vacant Mormon buildings.
One more of the Mormon row.  Temp in the upper 60's, light breeze ,, nice day.
There is a story -  Judy was at our campsite early the 2nd morning and casually looking around the landscape towards the river and saw what she thought was a stick move.  All of a sudden this huge bull moose in velvet stood up!  A bit excited  (understatement) she told Mark to immediately come out (not telling him why),  which Mark replied.. "I am not yet dressed".. which she replied ... Come Out Now!  The view was remarkable.  (the moose,, not Mark)

The Grand Teton Lodge - this is the view you seen when you first enter the lodge... the Teton range.  Nicely done.
Fire weed, rustic fencing and the Tetons.... all good.

You know your in the Wild Wild West, when...

  • In the Church bulletin, under Upcoming Events:  The security team will be meeting on Tuesday, please bring your gun, holster and ammo.  Lunch will be provided. (we read this... honest)
  •  You step outside your RV in the morning and there is a moose at your      campsite.
  • More people are wearing cowboy hats than baseball caps.
