Crater Lake

Crater Lake National Park - Cascade Mountains of Southern Oregon

Crater Lake is in the caldera (collapsed volcano) of  Mount Mazama....and the water is the most magnificent color blue.  It is the deepest lake in the United States and has no streams flowing into or out of it...all of it's water comes from snow melt and rain.  Rim Drive, is a 33 mile loop that follows the caldera rim around the lake and ranges in elevation from 7,000 to 8,000 feet.  The vistas were amazing, but we soon realized that it was not the road to drive in a RV.  In many areas there were no guard rails and there were numerous drop offs going straight down.  This was no bueno in an RV!

After leaving Crater Lake,  we had to have Nika's foot attended to by a Vet in Eugene, OR .

We can now bake...a nice addition to the RV kitchen.  Yes, that's a Hawaiian pizza in the oven!   Judy baked a chocolate/blackberry cake last night.... yummy!
